This pulled pork chilli is a perfect way to use Helen Browning’s slow-cooked pulled pork to feed a crowd. It is hearty, easy to put together, and can be dressed up with all your favourite fixings. We’ve done all the slow-cooking for you, so this dish can be on the table in under 30 minutes, but will taste as if it has spend hours over the flames! Use 500g home-cooked pulled pork if you prefer.

Ingredients:

  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 red pepper, diced
  • 1 pack of Helen Browning’s Pulled Pork (Turmeric or BBQ flavour both work equally well)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tin crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tin beans – any sort, in chilli sauce if you have it.
  • 2 tbsp of your favourite BBQ sauce
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • optional: handful of frozen sweetcorn

Method:

Cook onion and pepper together over a medium heat for 5 minutes. Add the rest of the ingredients (including sweetcorn if you are using) and simmer gently for 20 minutes. Break up the pulled pork after about 5 minutes – it will shred easily – and stir occasionally to let the flavours mingle. Taste and adjust seasonings to suit.

Serve with rice or jacket potatoes, with sour cream, fresh tomatoes, grated cheese, avocado, jalapeños .. the choices are endless!
