This genius Guinness BBQ Sauce is quick to make and has many layers of flavours that pairs well with beef and pork dishes – add to Helen Browning’s slow cooked ribs in the last 10 minutes of cooking for an extra smoky hit.
Ingredients
- 300g tomato ketchup
- 75ml cider vinegar
- 30g dark brown soft sugar
- 30g butter
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1½ tbsp English mustard
- 2 tsp Steenberg’s sweet and smoky seasoning
- 1 tsp fine sea salt
- 200ml Guinness
- 2 packs of Helen Browning’s Organic Slow Cooked Baby Back Pork Ribs
Method
Mix all the sauce ingredients in a small sauce pan and whisk together over medium low heat. Let simmer 20 minutes until thick. Set aside to cool, then chill.
Follow the instructions on the ribs label for cooking. Baste with sauce 10 minutes before the end of the cooking time. Put the remaining sauce on the table for extra dipping.
Any remaining sauce will keep for 2-3 weeks in the fridge.
