Spicy, coated with cheese, and topped with hot dogs, these fabulous fries make a great snack or sharing platter. Simple and quick to make, perfect for a weekend indulgence! Add extra toppings – sweetcorn, crispy bacon, diced tomatoes, sliced spring onions – to take these oven chips to next level delicious!
- 1 bag of frozen French fries, approx 500g
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 red pepper, sliced
- 6 Helen Browning’s Organic hot dogs
- Handful of grated cheddar cheese
- Pickled jalapeños
- Ketchup & mustard mayo to serve
Pour the frozen French fries into a roasting tray and drizzle with 1 tablespoon of oil. Sprinkle Cajun seasoning and Worcestershire sauce over the chips. Toss the chips in the oil and seasonings until evenly coated. Cook at temp/time according to the instructions on the packet.
Cut each hot dog into 4 or 5 pieces. Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to a frying pan and stir fry sliced onions, peppers and hot dog pieces until the onions start to soften and the hot dogs are cooked through.
When the chips are cooked, add the vegetables, hot dogs and jalapeños. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Return to the oven until the cheese has melted and coloured slightly. Add a little more cajun spice to taste, and serve with ketchup and mustard mayo.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
