- 2 large onions
- Cooking spray/olive oil
- Salt & pepper
- Hot dog buns
Preheat air fryer to 200ºC for 5 minutes.
Cut the onion into strips, the thinner the softer they’ll become.
Put onions in a bowl and add a splash of olive oil, mix well. Season with salt and pepper. Onions should be shiny with oil –add more oil as necessary.
Pour onions into your air fryer basket. Cook at 200ºC for 15 mins total, flipping them every 5 minutes (or cook in a frying pan, stirring occasionally, until crispy).
Bacon wrapped hot dogs
Wrap each hot dog in a bacon rasher.
Preheat air fryer to 200°C for 5 minutes.
Put bacon wrapped hotdogs in air fryer basket. Air fry for 8 minutes. Flip hot dogs (so the bacon cooks evenly) and cook for another 3-5 minutes until the bacon is fully cooked to your desired level of crispness.
Preheat oven to 200ºC. Add bacon wrapped hotdogs to a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake for 13-16 minutes or until the bacon has cooked evenly, turning once during cooking.
Serve in buns topped with crispy onions and your favourite condiments. You’ll need more than one each!
