With the new announcements of the easing of lockdown restrictions, there are exciting times ahead for visitors to the Royal Oak in Bishopstone. From perfect picnics to fabulous farm tours, for wild camping or a simple stroll along the historic Ridgeway, there is something for everyone – come along to visit, or book to eat or stay.

Royal Oak

“After we’d cleared the snow off the tables on April 12th when we were allowed to re-open, it’s been sunshine and streams of people ever since. Serving full lunch and supper menus, plus organic sourdough pizzas all afternoon, customers have been basking in pale sunshine, wrapped in blankets and the occasional electric waistcoat—a personal electric fire, battery powered. Remarkable. We’re open every day serving from our new garden kitchen, and after May 17th we’ll let you inside the place!

Our latest addition – a high spec Argentinian grill in the beer garden, serving burgers, steaks, ribs, and wonderful wood-fired pizzas. Food served noon – 7.30pm. Keep an eye on our social media for more updates.

The Flying Pig

Our mobile food van remains up on The Ridgeway, offering hot and cold food, including delicious bacon sandwiches, pulled pork baps and, of course, speedy sausage sandwiches. The Flying Pig is open 10am-3pm from Wednesday to Sunday; postcode is SN6 8NZ and there is plenty of car parking on The Ridgeway.

Get ahead of the queues.
