It is now the beginning of September, which can only mean one thing, it is time for Organic September!
This is a brilliant campaign led by the Organic Trade Board and the Soil Association that aims to highlight and raise awareness of organic products, and the brands, producers and farmers all over the UK. A community that we are so proud to be a part of, and a community that we believe everyone should be aware of. The organic industry has seen a boom in the last few years, which is very exciting news! With the ever-growing challenge of the climate crisis, and the issue of finding sustainable food sources becoming more prominent than ever before, it is time for the organic agricultural industry to shine.
My name is Holly Bowness and I have recently started working for Helen Browning’s Organic as part of my placement year at Harper Adams university, and so far, I have loved every minute! From the Royal Oak pub to the abundance of interesting wildlife, there is a lot that goes on here in Bishopstone. So, to celebrate Organic September and to help spread the word about organic agriculture, I thought this would be a fantastic opportunity to share the many goings on and amazing experiences that we have to offer at Eastbrook Farm. Over the past few weeks, I have been speaking to staff to bring you various tales from experiences and opinions, and more information about different parts of the business. This includes stories of wildlife, tips and tricks for your cooking, and information about our new farm shop. I hope that they will make an interesting read for you all!
We also have lots of interesting and exciting information for you over on our social media platforms:

My personal favorites at Eastbrook Farm are the pigs, and there are quite a lot of them, which is very exciting! After having a few pet pigs on our family farm since I was little, I have developed quite a soft spot for these curious animals. I love to go and see all the pigs living so happily in the fields near the ridgeway, it is a wonderful sight and they are so friendly! We would love to welcome you and show you around the farm; Eastbrook Experiences offer an excellent farm safari that I would highly recommend. Since starting my role here at Helen Browning’s Organic back in July, I have sampled quite a lot of products. Many pub meals from the Royal Oak (possibly one too many) plus lots of samples in the office have been brilliant, it really is a perk of the job. The BBQ pulled pork is a real winner!
I hope that you all will enjoy reading this series of blogs over the next few weeks and please keep in contact via social media or email if you have any queries ([email protected]). Thank you so much for reading!
