Chop House Spring Menu 2019

4th March 2019

Our astonishingly enjoyable and successful foray into the throbbing heart of Swindon’s Old Town, Helen Browning’s Chop House, is once again refreshing its menu as spring approaches. Manfred and Anne who run the place have found space for more veggie options of course, since they’re right down with the kids; and a refresh of the craft beers and lagers brings more local and importantly more organic artisan drinks onto our menus.

This part of Swindon is pretty humming these days—great wine shop over the road, two or three very good beer houses, good deli, and good tapas round the corner. One or two pubs offering live music. If you’re not all that enthused by some parts of Swindon, the Old Town ‘village’ is worth a try. Start with supper or lunch at Helen Browning’s Chop House.

This is well worth a share. A very informative & engaging video about one of our most remarkable & precious resources ... SOIL!

Soil is pretty remarkable stuff. It provides 95% of our food, helps regulate the Earth’s atmosphere and is a bigger carbon sink than all the world's forests combined. In fact, it basically enables all life on this planet to exist. So why do we treat it like dirt? The Guardian journalist Josh Toussaint-Strauss finds out how we are destroying it, but also discovers some of the progress made in the race to protect the Earth’s soils
