E-commerce & Digital Trading Manager

Full time or Part-time | Flexible | Hybrid (Rural Wiltshire)

Travel to the office: At least once a week

We’re looking for someone to own our online shop and help it grow. This isn’t a big corporate e-commerce machine. There’s no team underneath you. It’s hands-on. You’ll set the plan and make it happen.

We’re flexible on how this works. Full-time. Part-time. Compressed hours. School-term only. Job share. We’ll consider all options for the right person. We care far more about capability and ownership than about sitting at a desk 9–5.

What you’ll actually do

  • Own the commercial performance of the website
  • Be responsible for revenue, margin and contribution
  • Run the WooCommerce site day to day
  • Improve conversion, average order value and customer journey
  • Manage Klayvio (campaigns + automations)
  • Plan promotions and trading activity
  • Work with our external web agency on improvements
  • Align closely with stock and operations
  • Manage social media channels

You’ll be trusted to make decisions and be accountable for the results.

What this role is

  • Hands-on
  • Commercial
  • Autonomous
  • About building something properly

What it isn’t

  • A “Head of Digital” strategy job
  • A large team to manage
  • Big budgets and endless resource

What we’re looking for

You’ve run or owned an e-commerce channel before. A can do attitude with a sense of humour is essential!

You’re comfortable with WooCommerce (or something similar).
You understand email marketing properly (ideally Klayvio) — not just sending campaigns.
You’re confident with numbers.
You like working independently in a small business where things aren’t perfect and want to work for a values led brand understanding the additional complexities this brings.

Experience in food or drink is helpful but not essential.

What success looks like

  • Clear year-on-year sales growth
  • A more commercially effective website
  • Email contributing more revenue
  • Better visibility of performance and profitability
  • Reduced purge of product

The practical bits

  • Full or Part-time and flexible (we’ll agree what works)
  • Hybrid working
  • Office attendance at least weekly as this is where it all happens. Full time in the office is also very welcome.
  • Salary pro rata to experience and hours worked

If you like building things, taking responsibility, and quietly making them better — we should talk. Apply by emailing your CV and a covering letter explaining why you are the perfect fit for Helen Browning’s to info@helenbrowningsorganic.co.uk. Please included your preferred working hours and structure and salary expectations. There is no formal closing date for this role. We will close it when we find the right person. Next week, next month or next year.

A quick word on adjustments

We want you to be able to show us what you can really do — not be tripped up by the process. If you need any adjustments at any stage, just tell us. That might be a different interview format, extra time, flexibility around timings, or something else entirely. We’re very happy to make reasonable accommodations, and we’ll handle any requests quietly and respectfully.

Good people come in all shapes and working styles. We care far more about what you can bring than how you get there.

Sales & Account Manager – Retail & Wholesale

Part-time | Flexible | Hybrid (Rural Wiltshire + travel)

Travel to the office (SN6 8AL): At least once a month (ideally once a week)

We’re looking for a proper seller.

Someone who can open doors, sit in front of buyers, negotiate properly — and occasionally pull on a pair of wellies and walk someone round the farm.

This is a hands-on sales role. No team underneath you. No hiding behind PowerPoint. Just doing the work and making it pay.

We’re flexible on structure. Part-time, compressed hours, school-term only, job share all considered for the right person.

What matters is that you generate profitable business and take responsibility for it.

The commercial challenge

  • Grow sausage and trim sales significantly
  • Win the right retail and wholesale listings for the Helen Browning’s range of products
  • Sell in a way that supports whole-carcass balance
  • Make sure the deals you do genuinely work

What you’ll be doing

Winning business

  • Open new accounts across speciality retail, wholesale and foodservice
  • Go after the right opportunities — not just the obvious ones
  • Lead negotiations on price, margin and promotion
  • Build a realistic, focused pipeline

Looking after key accounts

  • Own day-to-day relationships with Ocado, Abel & Cole and Amazon Fresh
  • Manage range reviews, promotions and performance
  • Protect margin while staying competitive

Trade shows & hosting buyers

  • Choose the right shows and use them properly
  • Follow up thoroughly
  • Host buyers on farm
  • Be as comfortable in a field as in a meeting room

Commercial discipline

  • Keep whole-carcass balance front of mind
  • Work closely with operations on availability
  • Work with finance on margin and pricing
  • Take responsibility for the consequences of the deals you make

Who this suits

  • Someone straight-talking and organised
  • Genuinely interested in food and farming
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Motivated by doing things properly rather than chasing job titles
  • Resilient enough to hear “no” and keep going
  • Wants to work in a values led business with other values led businesses

The practical bits

  • Full Time or Part-time and flexible.
  • Hybrid working
  • Office attendance at least monthly (ideally weekly)
  • Performance bonus linked to profitable growth
  • Business mileage reimbursed at HMRC rates
  • Competitive package including pension, flexi working, discount on our products, private medical cover

If you like selling something you can stand behind — and you’re happy getting your boots muddy occasionally — we’d love to hear from you. Please email your CV and a covering letter explaining why you’re a perfect fit for Helen Browning’s to info@helenbrowningsorganic.co.uk. Please include your preferred working hours and schedule and salary expectations.

No official closing date – we will close when we have found the perfect person. Next week, next month or next year.
