Organic Bronze Turkey Crown


You cannot beat a slow-grown, free-range organic Bronze Turkey Crown. Available in a selected range of weights to cater for a family, and plenty for leftovers. Ideal for those who prefer an easy to slice white meat.

Turkey crowns are supplied in a box, with vacuum packed giblets, rosemary, recipe leaflet and pop up timer.

Our traditional Bronze Free Range Turkeys live a free-range life, foraging on organic pastures and woodland, living significantly longer than most other free-range and organic birds, which give them their distinctive full flavour and wonderfully moist texture.

Animal welfare is something we believe passionately in – our turkeys live healthy, happy lives, enjoying a natural grass and forage-based diet free from unnecessary chemicals, antibiotics and GM feed.

Cooking suggestion:

Preheat oven. Place turkey in a large roasting tin. Brush the breast and legs with melted butter or oil, if desired. Cover with foil, tucking the foil down and around the sides of the turkey keeping the foil inside the tin. Place roasting tin in the centre of the oven.

During cooking: Halfway through cook time remove the turkey from the oven, spoon the juices in the bottom of the roasting tin over the turkey to baste, recover with the foil and return to the oven. For the last 15 minutes of cooking remove the foil and baste the turkey again with the cooking juices.

End of cooking: Pierce the thickest part of the thigh with a skewer to check that the juices run clear. If more cooking is required re-cover with foil and return to the oven, checking every 15 minutes. Once cooked, remove from the oven, cover with foil and leave to rest for a minimum of 30 minutes. (Time Fan 23 mins per kg + 2hrs 40mins Electric and Gas 30 mins per kilo, Oven: 180°C, Fan: 140°C, Gas: Gas Mark 4)

Store in the fridge. Ideal for home freezing. If freezing do so on day of purchase and consume within one month. Defrost throughly before use. Do not refreeze after thawing.
