Organic Gin with Pear and Sea Buckthorn miniature showcasing the taste and aroma of British wild flower meadows and orchards in a bottle.
Agroforestry is using pioneering agriculture combining trees, plants and crops to farm together in order to build soil health and organic matter. The distinct flavour profile of Sea buckthorn, an emerging superfood, is mellowed out by the pear, fresh honey and herbal notes. Always with sustainability in mind and the rise in conscious consumer, the bottle itself is made from recycled glass with a recyclable mineral paper label and seal finished with soft wooden cork. Refillable pouches are then available to refill your gin bottle. When finished, customers can post the refill pouches back to Helen Browning’s Organic who will then recycle them.
Helen Browning’s family has farmed at Eastbrook Farm for 67 years and takes pride in forward-thinking farming methods, seeking out ways to farm that are as good as they possibly can be for people, farm animals and nature. In this way, the farm has been experimenting with agroforestry. The farm, therefore, is an oasis of wild birds, deer and a vibrant insect population alongside free-range livestock that all thrive among the pollen and flowers of sea buckthorn, dog rose, wild crab apple and pear trees in the agroforestry and 50 miles of hedgerows.
CEO of the Soil Association, Helen Browning says, “Our farm is at the heart of everything we do. Our agroforestry project is already making a positive impact on the soil on which we depend and the wildlife that live on the land. Now, excitingly, we can capture Eastbrook Farm in a bottle – and it’s delicious!”
