Our Chop House menu is based around everything good that we produce on our organic farm in Bishopstone.

From pork chops and ribs, to beef steaks and burgers, lamb loins and veal fillets. We combine that with organic fruit and veggies from Westmill, and milk and butter from our own cows at Berkeley Farm. It’s simple, fresh, nutritious and fun. Cooked and served by intelligent people, importantly.

All the meat (and bacon and sausages and ham) we use is from our own farm, Eastbrook, at Bishopstone, 6 miles from here. Organic since 1986.

The charcuterie is from Native Breeds near Gloucester, using Eastbrook raw materials. We use other local suppliers every time we can — veg grown by Pete Richardson at West Mill, Sevenhampton; he also collects our organic fruit; bread from Aston’s Bakehouse, near Lambourn; milk from Berkeley Farm, Wroughton — they use milk from Eastbrook’s cows; mozzarella and ice cream from Jody Scheckter’s buffaloes at Laverstoke, near Newbury.

Our dried goods, and tea, coffee etc. comes from Essential, a Bristol based Stalinist workers’ coop! Specialising in organic and Fairtrade goods.

Craft beers from wherever we can get them — wines from Vintage Roots at Reading.
